New Supreme Well Pet Vet Floor Plan: Enhanced Benefits for Mobile Veterinarians

Introducing the new Supreme Well Pet Vet Floor Plan:

The Supreme Well Pet Van was originally brought to life in 2013 as an answer to the growing demand for mobile veterinary services. Built using a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter High Roof Cargo Van, it was designed, engineered, and manufactured specifically for mobile veterinarians seeking comfort, cutting edge technology, space, and fuel efficiency.

After numerous conversations and ride-a-longs with mobile veterinarians, the Wag’n Tails team received feedback regarding limitations in storage, workspace, equipment mounting, and optional veterinary equipment within the Supreme Van. As part of our commitment to the mobile veterinary space, we took the information that was gathered and designed a new floor plan that better aligns with mobile vets’ needs.

The Process

The floor plan redesign project began in July of 2024 with our production team creating 3D floor plan mockups in which equipment mountings were tested, storage was reconfigured, and aspects of the clinic were moved around like a game of Tetris.

The modeling process took three months with countless rounds of feedback and adjustments. In the end, we were able to enhance the workflow of the clinic space by increasing cabinetry and countertop space, as well as creating designated areas in the van for lab, storage, procedures and exams.

Not only did we redesign spatial aspects of the clinic, but we also updated the van’s aesthetics to create a modern, professional environment that reinforces the feel of an exam room within the vehicle.

Finally, our veterinary team worked diligently to update our equipment offerings almost across the board, focusing on proven technologies that are energy efficient, mobile and robust.

All in all, the new Supreme Well Pet Vet layout was designed with veterinarians’ needs at the forefront so that Wag’n Tails can continue to provide top-of-the-line mobile veterinary clinics to pet care professionals.

What’s New?

When the door to the new Supreme Well Pet Vet van opens, the first thing many people notice is the openness of the space when compared to the old floor plan. A major reason for this is because we transformed the area to the left of the van door, moving the fridge to the back of the clinic and removing the pet crate altogether.

Relocating the refrigerator presented a significant challenge for our design team, as positioning it at the back of the clinic obstructed access to the water tanks, requiring a strategic reevaluation of the layout. In the end, we decided to raise the back counter slightly to allow for water tank access while still being able to relocate the fridge.

These changes to the fridge position allowed us to rethink the design of the back of the clinic and lead us to the decision to reposition the sink to its own dedicated area, optimizing workspace and enhancing overall hygiene within the clinic.

The next big change our team made was adding a pass-through door from the van cab to the clinic area. This allows pet care professionals to easily access the cab without having to exit the van, further increasing work efficiency.

To modernize the look of the mobile clinic, all the cabinetry and countertops were upgraded to a sleek and clean white. These changes were made to give visual cues that mobile veterinary services are both a premium service and a medically safe and sterile environment for pets.

Finally, our existing equipment was evaluated and largely updated to better align with the mobile-first clinic. Every piece of equipment in our vans was tested to work with our CleanPower System, making sure equipment power sources were compatible with our battery system.

In some cases, such as our Anesthesia equipment, dental machine and our new table offerings, we worked directly with manufacturers to design equipment that is specifically designed for our space and mounting needs. This redesign wasn’t just a Wag’n Tails project, it involved almost part of our supply chain.
