Our mission at Wag’n Tails is to help mobile pet care professionals be successful. Since the founding of Wag’n Tails, we have built our reputation on innovation, common sense, and customer service, and we continue to lead the industry because these core values still define our company.

1971

Our family formed Wag’n Tails and opened the first grooming salon in St. Paul, MN. Within five years, Wag’n Tails was operating six pet grooming salons.

1976

To better serve its clients and their pets, Wag’n Tails decided to go mobile and converted two pet grooming vans. By 1980, Wag’n Tails had six pet grooming vehicles serving the Twin Cities metropolitan area.

1980

Wag’n Tails relocated to Howell, MI. Over the next ten years, its mobile pet grooming business grew to twenty-two mobile pet grooming vehicles and two pet grooming salons serving central and southeastern Michigan.

1994

Wag’n Tails sells their first mobile grooming van conversion.

1996

Wag’n Tails recognized the value proposition and growing demand for mobile pet grooming services and made the decision to transition its business model and become a manufacturer of specialty pet grooming vehicles. The Company’s founder, Dina Perry, designed a pet grooming vehicle and developed a mobile business plan to help customers ensure success.

1999

Dennis, Dina’s son, purchases the business.

2001

Dennis and his father, Chuck, opened an 8,000 square foot production facility and hired the best professionals to manufacture and sell Wag’n Tails pet grooming vehicles.

2005

Because of exceptional growth in the mobile pet care industry, Wag’n Tails opened a new 24,000 square foot production facility in Granger, IN to manufacture both pet grooming and veterinary vehicles.

2017

Wag’n Tails reached a milestone with over 3,000 pet grooming and veterinary vehicles produced and sold since inception.

2019

In need of additional manufacturing capacity, Wag’n tails built an adjacent production facility totaling 12,000 square feet to help keep up with demand from both pet grooming and veterinary customers.

“We are very excited to provide mobile veterinary services in the coastal area to new and existing clients. Mobile services not only relieve stress in pets who do not like to be transported, but these services are also very convenient for pet owners who are unable to easily travel. Mobile services are especially great for clients who would prefer a private visit with their pet’s doctor in the comfort of their own home.”

Dr. Gwynn Hardee

“There are people in need who can’t come to the clinic, so I go to them. Mobile veterinary services provide a stress-free environment for pets as well as clients. I feel the bond. I feel the love, unconditional love, and I know that pet parents feel the same way. Right now, I’m living my dream.”

Dr. Venkat Kuncharapu

“Going mobile has been a big change for me. I used to work 12 hours a day in a large veterinary hospital and rarely had time to even go outside, which was hard for me. Now, I have freedom to set my own schedule, which helps me to have a more balanced life. I focus mostly on wellness care with my mobile practice but have an agreement with a local clinic to perform surgeries there one day a week, which works out really well for everyone.”

Dr. Amalia Lopez

“The two hours commuting on top of a 10 to 12-hour workday was creating a taxing situation for my family and me. I wanted to continue practicing veterinary medicine at a level that I had grown to love while still having time to care for my husband and kids. Starting my own mobile veterinary practice has given me the flexibility to do both and not have to sacrifice one at the expense of the other. It has been a life-giving experience.”
